A content creator named Jesska, who specializes in job search advice, revealed strategies to leverage this shift. According to Jesska, job seekers should focus on optimizing their LinkedIn profiles not only for human recruiters but also for AI tools that recruiters use. She suggested eight hacks to make a LinkedIn profile more attractive to recruiters.
Firstly, job seekers should consider using the “Open to Work” sticker. While some argue this can make a candidate seem desperate, it also serves as a sorting tool, allowing recruiters to quickly identify those actively searching for jobs. Users can also set their profiles so that only recruiters, not current employers or clients, see the sticker.
Secondly, Jesska advises reconsidering the use of academic titles, like MBA or Ph.D., in the name. She stated that unless the degree is from a highly recognized school like Harvard, it might not have much impact or could potentially work against the candidate. Recruiters might label such individuals as “overqualified”, which could result in fewer opportunities.
Thirdly, Jesska suggested job seekers include two different job titles on their LinkedIn profile: one that reflects their current or previous role, and
